Niki dinsey (Managing Director)
Managing Director. Niki, 30, has over 12 years of working IT experience and has been tinkering with IT since he was eight years old. Niki worked in the telecommunications industry until 2000. Since then he worked for CSW, a small healthcare and publishing IT firm based in Oxford.
Over the past 7 years Niki has successfully run projects for the BBC, United Nations, a number of European research projects, British Medical Journal and Informa to name a few. Some highlights from Niki’s career at CSW include:
* Being asked to speak at Tim Berners-Lee’s WWW2002 conference in Hawaii on an early Web Service implementation, now commonly known as Service Orientated Architectures (SOA)
* Designed and developed a medical tracking product that reduced waiting times in A&E departments which due to its success went national and spawned a number of copycat products
* Some of Niki’s standards work, allowing closer interoperability between car manufacturers and repair shops has recently been passed into European law (as part of Euro V emissions standards work http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_emission_standards)
Since mid 2004, Niki managed a business unit for CSW called Informatics. CSWi was initially intended to serve internal customers (as a research department) but quickly became a public facing, technology driven consultancy outfit. This team consisted of 11 highly talented staff and worked on projects providing solutions for knowledge management with rich dynamic user interfaces, this is where the ideas for Sarsen Software were born.
Mathew Tobin (Domain Specialist)
Co-founder, Sarsen Education & Working Year 6 Teacher. Mathew, 33, graduated from Westminster College, Oxford in 1999 as Student Teacher of the Year. Since 2001 Mathew has worked at Wantage Church of England Primary School initially as a Year five teacher and ICT co-ordinator. In recent years Mathew moved to Year 6 and Literacy co-ordinator.
In his time at Wantage CE, Mathew has reviewed numerous software products for RM and is currently reviewing children’s books for writeaway.com. Mathew has also lectured at Oxford Brookes University about the benefits of teaching with the aid of interactive whiteboards in the classroom.
More recently, Mathew has been working closely with Becta to gain NAACE ICT accreditation for his school.
Eric Dinsey (Chairman)
Chairman. Eric, 55, brings a wealth of Business experience having spent more than 15 years with Orange and Hutchison 3G in senior general management, customer management and financial back office roles including membership of Operating Boards for the UK, European and Indian subcontinent businesses. Eric provides consultation and Non Exec Director support to a number of start up businesses in the UK.
Eric also has an excellent network of contacts in a wide range of industries and at all levels from CEO's to junior management.
Michelle Price (Finance Director)
Finance Director. Michelle, 38, has over 17 years of financial experience.
Starting her career in business banking Michelle qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers before moving into Accounting where she qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Michelle has worked in a variety of companies in the manufacturing, customer services and consultancy sectors.
Michelle’s most recent position was Finance Director of a Virgin Group start-up company which achieved turnover of £10m in the first year. The company performed print outsourcing both across the Virgin Group and for external clients. During her time there, Michelle also set-up the new cost saving inventory management solution for Virgin Mobile.
Prior to this, Michelle was a consultant at Williams Lea, ranked 21st in the top 100 of worldwide outsourcing companies. She was the financial consultant on a management team working on setting up a new Corporate Information Procurement Solutions Division. She worked both internally and with clients to help in winning one of the largest outsourcing projects ever placed in the industry, worth over £200m. Michelle also has experience in Home Education where she has been teaching children across a number of subjects at the KS1 level.
